The banking sector is increasingly integrating ESG requirements into the planning of new commercial spaces. A perfect example of this is the "Tomorrow" office building, realized by the Munich Savings Bank (Stadtsparkasse München - SSKM) in the Werksviertel district. The facility paves the way as the first office building in Bavaria designed according to the Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) philosophy, combining sustainable development, innovation, and economic efficiency.
Cradle-to-Cradle: A Circular Economy Building
The 11,500 m² of modern office space in "Tomorrow" is based on the concept of a circular economy. In practice, this means utilizing materials that are non-toxic, biological, recycled, and fully ready to be reprocessed. The investment, worth approximately 60 million euros, will be confirmed by the prestigious DGNB Gold certification.
One of the most characteristic and futuristic elements of the project is the multifunctional green facade. A diamond-shaped aluminum structure provides a framework for 20 species of shrubs and perennials. Combined with a central ventilation system, this reduces the building's energy demand. Additionally, an advanced rainwater harvesting system collects water in a large tank, from which it supplies both plant irrigation and sanitary installations.

The project included the production and delivery of 790 m² of active BIPV modules with satin glass, which supply electricity for the facility's own needs, increasing its energy independence.
