The first high-rise building project in the USA. ML System will carry out a spectacular project in the United States, providing innovative photovoltaic cladding for a skyscraper being built across the ocean.
A massive, 55-story skyscraper measuring 200 meters in height is being built in the New York neighborhood of Long Island City. The application of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) technology on such a demanding facility is not merely a design project. The innovative PhotonWall cladding system will serve a dual purpose – acting as a facade while simultaneously producing clean energy.
Building height: 200 meters (55 floors).
PhotonWall panel area: 2,600 sq m.
Estimated green energy production: approximately 285 MWh annually.
Building purpose: 636 apartments and commercial spaces.
Component delivery schedule: from September to December 2026.
The partner and contracting party for this project is Helios Facade LLC, a company specializing in the delivery of energy-active photovoltaic facades on the American market. For ML System, this investment marks an important moment in the brand's global expansion.

As Dawid Cycoń, Vice President of ML System, emphasizes:
This is a breakthrough contract for ML System – the company's first project in a high-rise building in the United States, and at the same time in such a large residential facility. The project confirms the effectiveness of a strategy based on the development of standardized products, export expansion, and direct presence on the American market. We hope that it will become a starting point for further projects in the USA.
Modern construction in American metropolises must meet strict ecological regulations. The use of ML System products complies with the rigorous requirements of building codes, such as the New York City Energy Conservation Code. Furthermore, it allows owners to stay ahead of the carbon dioxide emission limits imposed by New York's Local Law 97.
Zev Laine, founder and CEO of Helios Facade LLC, explains the choice of the Polish supplier as follows:
The application of a photovoltaic facade on a 200-meter residential building in New York is not just a design project, but one with real benefits. The system must simultaneously function as building cladding and produce energy. We deliver clean energy-producing stick-built facade systems that meet building code requirements, including the New York City Energy Conservation Code, and help building owners get ahead of the carbon emission limit requirements resulting from Local Law 97. ML System's PhotonWall provided us with both the broad aesthetic possibilities and the production capabilities required to deliver this facade.
The skyscraper in New York is another massive ML System project in the residential high-rise segment. Upon completion, it will dethrone the company's current record holder – a 175-meter facility in Vienna with a similar cubic capacity. Thus, the building in Long Island City will become the tallest structure in the world equipped with photovoltaic solutions from the Polish manufacturer.
The PhotonWall cladding technology has already proven its effectiveness on other European high-rises. Among the completed projects, it is worth mentioning the 27-story Oslo Spektrum building, measuring 108 meters in height, and the 16-story, 50-meter apartment building in Helsinki. These products are becoming a very attractive, highly technological alternative to traditional building materials.
