Glass balustrades are details featured in many architectural designs. The sophisticated elegance of these solutions match both modern and traditional building styles. They are most often used to protect from falls from heights. The outer balustrades from ML System come with a very functional addition: they generate power.

The PV cells laminated between two glass layers of the glazing form the PV modules of a glass balustrade. The wide colour selection of plastic films, glass tints and PV cells installed in the glass balustrades help make even the most unusual architectural concepts possible and add new aesthetic value to buildings. Increasing the PV cell spacing, PV cell laser structuring, or transparent PV cells will deliver the desired finish: either the retention or restriction of the transparency of the balustrade glass.

The ML System balustrades, which mainly serve as a fall protection system, are made of two glass pane types: tempered (ESG) or symmetric laminated (VSG), according to TRAV (Technische Regeln für die Verwendung von absturzsichernden Verglasungen: Technical Specifications for Fall Protection Glazing).

The PV balustrades are manufactured in different sizes, up to 3.5 m in length, and customized to suit various fastening types and handrail styles.

The flexible size range, the wide selection of optional fasteners and handrails, the rich colour palette, the large transparency scale, and the novel utility feature of power generation make the ML System PV balustrades extremely attractive in terms of aesthetics and cost efficiency.

The balustrades can be installed as infills with chock clamps, pressure fasteners, or point-fasteners.
