Drammen

Located at the mouth of the Drammenselva River flowing into the Drammenfjord, Drammen has a population of around 70,000. Once a port and industrial city, it is now undergoing a transformation. Despite its proximity to Oslo, Drammen is not merely a commuter town but a vibrant, beautifully situated, multifunctional city offering employment, entertainment, and a wide range of sports opportunities.

New, architecturally striking developments are emerging on both sides of the river. One such project is the creation of the new Brakerøya district. Adjacent to the modernized railway station, a hospital and several other facilities are being constructed, making it currently the largest construction site in Norway.

To ensure convenient transport in the region’s challenging climate, a glazed footbridge is being built above the platforms, incorporating over 2,000 m2 of glass.

Sales & Project Manager, ML SYSTEM

We are currently supplying large-format glazing panels for the project in Drammen, with a total surface area exceeding 2,000 m². We are proud that ML System has been able to meet the high quality and technological requirements. The largest glazing units we have manufactured measure 5.7 m × 1.5 m and weigh 470.25 kg.

The required solar protection is achieved through a ceramic raster print, while the self-cleaning function is ensured by specialized coatings applied to the surface of all glass panels.

…the delivery of large-format laminated glass and insulating glass units by ML System is ongoing, totaling 2,000 m2, for the footbridge project above the railway station platforms in Drammen, Norway.
