IN MUNICH

ALTE MÜNZE building – the Old Mint in Munich on Hofgraben Street has been the headquarters of the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments since 1986. This impressive structure was built between 1563 and 1567 by Duke Albrecht V as a court stable and an art hall. The current investor has decided to renovate the roof using PhotonRoof photovoltaic roof tiles.

ML System S.A. has been selected as the supplier of the PhotonRoof® photovoltaic roof tiles, which will be installed on the renovated historic Alte Münze building in Munich. Since Alte Münze is the seat of the Heritage Conservation Office for Bavaria, the investor placed great importance on the quality and aesthetics of the materials used.

It is a great honor for us that the ceramic photovoltaic roof tiles – PhotonRoof – have been used in such a prestigious site as the historic Alte Münze in Munich. This project demonstrates that photovoltaics can become an integral part of architecture, even in demanding historical buildings as well as landscape-sensitive structures. PhotonRoof combines modern energy-generation technology with aesthetics that harmoniously blend into the character of the place. Thanks to projects like this, we are building the ML System brand’s recognition among the most demanding investors and strengthening our presence in foreign markets, where building directives combined with the so-called “European Renovation Wave” will drive demand for our products. Importantly, this undertaking fits perfectly into the company’s development strategy, which aims to deliver innovative and standardized solutions in many countries across Europe and beyond.
